Tette Hofstra
Hofstra affords an historical overview of the oldest academic course in Germanic Studies in the Netherlands, taught at the University of Groningen. Starting with the unsalaried university teacher Sijmons, Hofstra gives a chronological survey of his successors and their scientific importance. Apart from mentioning the educational and administrative reforms in the 1960s, Hofstra stresses the widening perspective of the fields of study and the current state of affairs.
